Relationships make or break your business. When you build a relationship with someone, you see value with that party and feel they can be a key factor to your program or organizations success. The same is true with relationships with your partners. Today production budgets are being cut but your clients still want to achieve the same if not more success as the previous years. Key partners can help you achieve success in your tradeshow programming. Here are my keys to partner relationships:
Keep in mind, the partner you choose for business is an extension of your company or brand. If you mismanage this relationship, it can reflect poorly on your overall trade show program. In very simple terms, if you do not manage your partner like you would a staff member many issues can arise. At the end of the day it comes down to effective communication. Clearly defining expectations should be a given from the start of the project. Your partners need to know what you expect from their product or service. Additionally, your partners need to know what is expected from you. It is a relationship and you need to nurture that relationship for it to continue to grow.
